Bananas Foster

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Don't tell anyone, but this is the easiest dessert in the world to make (outside of just scooping ice cream into a bowl), and it tastes delicious. It is great for dinner parties, or a romantic dinner for two.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a small or medium shallow pan, mix butter and brown sugar over medium high heat. It is best to put the butter in first so that the brown sugar doesn't burn.
  2. If needed, add more brown sugar. The butter should 'disappear' completely, resulting in a carmel-like syrup.
  3. Add in ginger and cinnamon, mix for about 15 seconds.
  4. Add in a few shots of 99 Bananas, allow to simmer for 1 minute.
  5. Add banana slices, cook while stirring for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve immediately over ice cream.
  7. For a festive occassion, you may want to consider adding some extra 99 bananas right before serving, and light the liquor table side for a stunning presentation. Only do this if you have tried it before successfully, and make sure there is a fire extinguisher within easy reach, since you are dealing with open flames. It would be quite a party foul to set a guest on fire, and would ruin an otherwise delicious dessert.
