June 7, 2008 - Ellie and I met Brett Sova at Idlewild Park in Kentucky at 10 AM to start the day with a round of disc golf. I hadn't played this course for at least 5 years, and I was impressed with how well they've kept up and improved the course. Easily the hardest course in Cincinnati, I played it as a par 4 and through a +6, which netted me a 78. According to cincinnatidiscgolf.com, the break point between pro and advanced is at 80, so I guess I should turn pro, right? The highlight was a 4 on hole 15, which is a 1001 foot hole. I had three monster drives to get me in range for a 40-50 foot putt, which went straight in. Brett gave us a tour of his house afterward. His house is almost identical to the house I grew up in, with a few minor differences in the kitchen and dining room. The rooms all seemed a foot or two smaller in each direction, which could either be true, or I could just be remembering the house I grew up in as bigger than it actually was. We all met Maggie Wesley for lunch at LaRosas, and then had to head back to Mike's to get dressed for the wedding. Ellie and I met up at the Madison at 3:30, then we drove a few of the groomsmen to the church. The wedding kicked off at 5:30 as planned, and then we headed to the reception back at the Madison to finish out the night. I hadn't thought much of it before hand, but this wedding involved a lot of my friends from the UC Marching Band, including the director himself. I sat at a great table. I was seated with Clint, Sara, Scotty, Brett, Matt, Marissa, Steve, and Ellie. We were apparently purposefully seated at the table closest to the bar. LeAnne and Matt opted for the open bar, but she was concerned that her friends and family wouldn't drink their money's worth, so they put us right next to the bar to keep the drinks flowing. My table didn't let LeAnne down. Even Ellie had 3 drinks by the end of the night. We headed home around 10:30 to get a start on our trip back to Florida tomorrow.
