January 14, 2008 - Back to work today. It was cold in the morning on the drive in, and my car starting was still giving me problems. After work I stopped at AMSCO to see about getting replacement parts for the hoses that the rat chewed up in my dishwasher several months ago. I've been washing dishes by hand all this time. I don't mind washing dishes, I think they get cleaner and handwashing is less damaging to my nice plates and silverware. Brenda was over, and she bought pizza for us for dinner. She also agreed that it was probably my battery that was going out on my car, so I went up to Advanced Auto Parts and got a new one for $63. There are way too many battery options. Why do I have to pick between batteries that cost from $63 up to $250? I just need one that will start my car, nothing else. The guy who changed it out even tested my alternator to see if that might be going bad, but it was fine. It was nice to change out the battery BEFORE it died, rather than having to get jumped and deal with all the hassles of a dead battery.
