February 9, 2008 - Since Ellie's car is wrecked, we need to find her a new car...so what did I do? I went canoeing with Mike first thing in the morning. We went to Taylor Park at 9:20 AM, hoping to beat the guy who was there the last few times I've gone over in the morning. Unfortunately, he was already there, and it was still a little too hazy in the water from the recent rain to see anything. So we packed up, and went home. Ellie and I went to the vet for the puppies post-operation checkup. Everyone was fine, and we were out of there in less than 5 minutes. Ellie and I went to pick up my suit from the dry cleaners, and then picked up some polarized sun glasses at Walgreens. Mike eventually came over and we went out canoeing again, this time at Cliff Stephens Park. The sunglasses helped, and we found 2 discs. That brings the total number of discs found with the canoe up to 8. I think I need to find about 30 before I "pay for" the canoe. When we got back home, it was about 5 PM, so we decided to start looking at cars. Mike found one on Craigslist that was about $2500. It is a Honda Civic, a car that he knows a lot about. We went to the dealer that had it, but it was missing a part and wouldn't start, so we didn't even consider it. We ended up looking at several other dealers but nothing was really impressing us. Back at home, I was going to cook up the steaks in my fridge, but I had left them in there too long and they had gone bad. Instead, we went to Surf and Turf, and Mike bought some prime filets, which were really good, but not as good as the last time. This is the first time I didn't think they were the best ever that I have made. We made some plans to go looking for cars tomorrow, and then went to bed.
