February 11, 2008 - Back to work on Monday. I drove Ellie to work, which I'll be doing for a while until we figure out what car option is best for us. Should be buy a junk car with cash and hope it runs for a year or so, should be lease a new car for 3 years, or should we buy a new car? The only option I'm really throwing out right now is buying a nice used car. We could potentially go out and buy a seemingly nice used car and finance it, and then several months down the road, while we're still making payments on it, have major expenses. I don't want that to happen. At least with a new car we're basically guaranteed 3 years of no problems, either covered by the warranty or because generally nothing happens to cars in that time period. After that it's anyone's guess. I finished up scrapping out cables today, and then went to 5/3 Bank to argue with my mortgage guy. He has changed his tune so many times about what % I would be getting, about how much my closing costs would be, and how much it would cost me at closing. I am sick of all the changes, and am ready to let him know about it. I went in and was originally going to ask for his manager right away, but he was sitting right at his desk and saw me so I ended up talking to him. I was there for about 45 minutes arguing that I had been misled and that he wasn't providing me information in good faith. Finally I asked for his managers name and number, but he wouldn't provide it. I talked to the manager on site, and he calmed me down a lot, but I was still angry that this mortgage guy was incompetent at performing the basic tasks of his job. I went back to work, and then picked up Ellie after work. We did some time at the gym, and then had pork tenderloin for dinner. I'll be enjoying the leftovers tomorrow for lunch. We stayed in the rest of the evening playing with the puppies and looking at new cars online.
