April 9, 2008 - Today didn't go as planned at all, but everything worked out all right. I started the day with the intention of meeting up with someone in the morning for business, but he didn't answer his phone until the afternoon. When I asked if he got the message I left on his phone in the morning, he said he doesn't check his voice mails. Well that was no good. But things got better later in the day. I went to the gym with Ellie. I'm setting some nice personal records in the gym. I can easily do 495 pounds on the leg press at this point, and I'm doing 100 reps on the ab machine at 60 pounds. I weighed in at Publix and I'm down about 4 pounds from my weight a few weeks ago, which is a good direction to be going. I made up a soft taco bake kit for dinner and then Anna and Mike came over for some wine in the back yard. Band practice was canceled, which actually helped me because I had an 'audition' with a Latin Jazz band at Ceviche's downtown St Pete. The guys in the band liked me a lot, and they said I could come out on Saturday and audition one more time with a slightly different/larger group. I think this might be a good step towards getting some consistent well paying gigs. I got home before 11 and was ready for bed right away.
