April 8, 2008 - What a good Tuesday. I spent the afternoon on the road traveling to assisted living facilities in northern Pinellas county and even into Pasco county. I was getting frustrated with a lack of response, and was ready to turn around, but my map took me past one last place, so I figured I would go in and get a business card and then head home. But something different happened today. Instead of getting turned away at the front desk, I got invited in to talk to someone, and was told they needed a quote on a new system. This was great news! I finished up there, headed home, and then played some disc golf with Mike once he got off work. It was a windy day and I threw several discs into the bushes and they nearly got lost. Mike did end up losing one, an errant shot off a tree into the water. After the round, Brenda and Ellie brought us Chipotle for dinner. We all sat out in the backyard listening to music and watching big limbs fall off the tree. Ok, that wasn't exactly how it happened. We were sitting in the back yard, and all of a sudden something that sounds like a squirrel jumping around in the tree startles all of us. Then a 4 foot branch is laying on the ground. Then a few more branches are laying on the ground. The recent rain must have softened up the tree and added extra weight, which caused a decaying branch to break off. Luckily no one was underneath when this happened, but it was pretty close to the deck. Once everyone was gone, Ellie and I spent the evening filing papers.
