July 28, 2007 - Ellie and I did some yard work today. First I cut the grass, then trimmed up around the sidewalk. Ellie put grass seed in the front yard, and then a layer of fertilizer. Our hose faucet in the front yard is stuck in the 'on' position, so I went to Home Depot to get a replacement. I also got a replacement flapper for our leaky toilet. I was excited when both of these repairs went smoothly. Actually, the only thing that wasn't smooth was the faucet, which had a sharp metal shard that I caught my right hand on, and got a decent cut in my palm. We hooked up the hose to the new faucet and watered to soak the seeds. We met up with Katie and Larry at 4 PM over in their new house in St Pete. Larry and I had been talking about playing disc golf ever since we met, and today was the day we played. I was worried that he was going to blow me away, but we actually ended with a tie. If we had played with his rules, I would have lost, but I never play penalty strokes for anything. After disc golf at Maximo, we had dinner at Carmalita's. Their sign says that it is the best Mexican in St Pete. I fell in love with their chips and salsa right away. The fajita I ordered was great, too. I'd eat here again. We went straight from there to Gators. Larry is a pretty big drinker, so he was ordering shots for the both of us. On the 'way home' from Gators, we stopped at Ricky T's for "1 drink". I think the final tally of drinks for the night was me=7, Larry=16. Good thing Ellie drove home.
