April 21, 2007 - Ellie and I took my parents to the Tampa Port today for them to depart on a trans-Atlantic cruise. They'll be gone for 19 days on a journey that will take them to 5 or 6 countries. I can't wait til I have the time and money to do this sort of thing. I love to travel and it has been a while since I've been anywhere. Ellie and I have been talking about going somewhere, but Florida is very different from Ohio when it comes to travel. Ohio is a step away from so many places, and Cincinnati being a Delta hub helped finding flights. To get anywhere out of Florida requires flying but fares are high out of this airport. Speaking of airports, we went to the airfield in Lakeland for an airshow. I got to see a lot of cool planes. The highlight was the stealth flying over. It looks unreal in the sky, even though it's been around for so long. I talked Ellie into going to Home Depot and we rented their truck and drove some drywall home. Drywalling my room is going to cost a lot! So far it is $250 for the drywall, screws, and renting the truck. I still have to buy tape, mud, sand paper, metal strips, and paint, which will probably add up to another $100. Then I'm going to put a wood floor down, for another $500-$700, and maybe some other odds and ends. I guess all things considered I'm getting a recording studio pretty cheap, but it is still a lot of money. We went swing dancing afterward, and then James came over and saw my house after the swing dance.
