January 23, 2006 - My day in Cabo was fairly typical, although I put my trip to the gym at the end of the day rather than in the middle. We didn't get cleared for 'open tender', the time when crew can get off the ship until after 11 AM, so I waited around, had lunch, and then got off the ship. From this point I had only a few hours in Cabo to do my internetting. Bully, the bulldog, was walking around and wanted to play with me while I was at the internet cafe that I usually frequent. Lots of people were stopping to pet him and take pictures of him. He came up to me with his chew toy so that I would play with him. His chew toy is a really tall plastic beer cup. He has to be the ugliest cute dog in the world. He's his own oxymoron. After a sailaway party I had dinner, and then had to wait a few hours before going to the gym. While I was waiting, I went to Superstars to listen to the competitors and to see how the new host would do. The guy who used to host is the new cruise director this week, so he is the third judge. The guy who used to be cruise director is just hanging out on the ship for the week, so he entered the contest for fun. It was hiliarious seeing him perform. No one in the audience knew he was the cruise director last week, so for all the crew, we knew what was going on, and I was laughing uncontrolably, and everyone else just thought it was a regular guy. I ended the night with the Mexican buffet.
