January 16, 2006 - The boat was rocking pretty heavily in the evening as we sailed from Cabo to Mazatlan. Apparently one of our stabilizers is broken, in addition to the unusually high winds. I heard we were getting winds around 40 mph. It was making a bunch of the crew not feel good, which is a sign that the seas are pretty bad. Of course, I didn't notice it, other than when people spoke of it. I seem to be fine with rougher seas. Earlier in the day I ran on the treadmill since I didn't have any chance to get off the ship. I ran a 5k in 21 minutes and 52 seconds, which is the best time I have run in well over 2 months. I lucked out, and my tenor sax was working when I played a one hour jazz set in the evening. Other than that, there was nothing to report for today.
