February 20, 2006 - Day 3 of my last week at sea. After 4.5 months, I've gotten pretty comfortable with life at sea. I'm comfortable with the fact that every day I wake up and the ship is somewhere different. It's not like living in a house, where the address stays the same. One day we're in San Diego, another we're at sea, then we're in Cabo San Lucas. It's comfortable. I would have desired for Rockin' Road, the production show we do, to stay in my comfort zone, but the cast left last week. That meant today I had to work with a new cast, and I would only work with them this one time. I had performed so many times with the last cast that I knew everyone, knew their abilities, their talents, their interests. Now I was put into a situation where I was comparing everyone in the new cast to the old cast - a very unfair comparison since the last one had 6 months experience doing the show and this one had not performed it yet. We had a long afternoon rehearsal, filled mostly with sound checks. The performances at nite went well, but it just wasn't the same, running into different people, expecting to see the old familiar faces. I was able to see a few familiar things today, though. I visited Bully at Theory Cafe in Cabo San Lucas, and I went to the Mexican Buffet. Those things will be my favorite memories from Cabo.
