April 7, 2006 - The day flew by in anticipation of tonites first Gulfcoast Jaycees event run by me, the new president. I wanted to start a social happy hour scene for us to use as a way to recruit and retain members. The plan was to meet at a bar in Clearwater and chat it up after work as the sun went down. My sister, Lauren, and the former president of the Tampa Jaycees showed up. I consider it a mild success, but in two weeks when we do this event again (at a new bar) I hope to get at least 10 people to show up. Lauren and I had dinner after this at home. I ordered a pizza from Chicago Pizza, and it was awesome. It was a pretty late dinner, though, and it sat on my belly as I slept.
