April 13, 2006 - I was up and at work at 8:20 AM today, so that Erica (the president of DVI) and I could go to the main office of THI in Orlando. The purpose of the trip was for her and I to meet with the president of THI, and talk about some of the things I would be doing with the company once I was officially hired. The drive took a lot longer than planned because a Miller Lite beer truck got in a wreck on the highway (killing the driver and causing the entire front of the truck to be removed from the rest of the truck, crumpled up and thrown on the side of the road). About 10 police cars were on the scene, plus all the hospital and towing entourage. We ended up missing our meeting with the president and instead Erica managed to get the paperwork approved to hire me, and I was introduced to everyone in the company and trained a little bit on what I would be doing. We drove back to Tampa and arrived around 7 PM, meaning I had very little time to get home, change, eat, and drive to St Pete to make the 8 PM skate. I did make it, though, and skated with the group. Lauren didn't show up, which was unfortunate. She always makes the skate more fun for me. I went home and went to bed.
