2005 was a pivotal year for me. I rounded the first turn in my life, the first quarter century I have been alive. I started the year 25 and ended 26. It was pivotal in other ways. I started the year with the goal of having been to all 50 states by the end of the year. I completed that with trips to New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma, Delaware, Arkansas, and Alaska. It was a pivotal year for my first career. I made the decision to move from the cold gray winters of Ohio to the sunny year round blue skies of Florida, joining my sister and parents. Because of this relocation, I quit my engineering job, and switched to a new line of work as a musician aboard a cruise ship. A few of my friends got married. I made pivotal changes to my exercise habits, by beginning to bike and kayak, and eventually got into running and weight lifting. Home improvement projects kept me busy during the summer. I made vast strides musically, starting with blues jams in Cincinnati, then Tampa, and then professionally aboard the Oosterdam cruise ship. On the cruise ship, I got to hear and and see many famous people. But possibly the biggest pivot that I wasn't anticipating was my spritual development. Listed below are the specifics that I described above, as well as links to each of the journal entries, when applicable, from that time of the year.
