March 19, 2005 - I keep coming back to the concept of expectations. My original thought was that I wouldn't have a good time in Arkansas because I hadn't heard anything about it, and that I would need to add Memphis into my trip to get Christie to go along. As it turns out, we had a much better time in Little Rock than we did in Memphis. I wasn't planning on there being anything to do in Little Rock other than the Clinton Presidential Library, but that was just one of many interesting things worth checking out. I guess that's why I've enjoyed my journey so far across the country. Having been to 47 states at this point, I can say that I wasn't expecting to enjoy Montana or Wyoming as much as I did, and I thought I would have enjoyed Washington more than I did. Even though I had never experienced those places, I had ideas in my mind of what they were like, just like the preconceived ideas I had about Arkansas.
