February 14, 2005 - I guess the biggest problem I have with today (Valentine's Day) is that it seems to be a day of competition, expectations, and bragging rights. How much did you spend? Where did you go to eat? Are there flowers? What did you do? I personally feel like holidays like Valentine's Day are for those who are so absorbed in themselves that they don't give any time to their relationships and they need someone to remind them to do something nice for someone else. I am at the point in my relationship where I treat every day like Valentine's Day. What's a guy to do in this situation? I can't sit back and do nothing, because then it is a disappointment (expectations).
