April 28, 2005 - I was blown away by the speed and distance that the SkateTampa bladers were able to skate at, in particular because of the age group of the people involved. I didn't really know what to expect when I showed up on USF's campus to meet up with a skating group. I ended up finding out that I was the youngest one there, and they ranged in age from just a few years older than me all the way up into the 60's. These people skate fast and they went about 10 miles. I usually skate much slower and go about 5 or 6 miles. I was able to keep up, but this is totally different than what I was used to back in Cincinnati. What a great workout today, combining the skating with the 14 miles of biking I did earlier today.
