March 5, 2004 – What a horrible day! The work day was great, but on my way home from work, I got ran off the road by someone who appeared to be racing another car, and since it was raining, I slid around and hit a guard rail and did $6,700 damage to my car. They’re going to repair it, but it was my fault, according to the police. I didn’t get cited with anything, but I am responsible, since I didn’t maintain control of my vehicle. It’s totally bogus, since I was the one who noticed this car coming into my lane, right next to me, put on my brakes to avoid him hitting me, and I got all the car damage. I wasn’t even rushing. I was supposed to go up to West Chester and pick up Barb on our way to Dayton, but that obviously didn’t happen. Barb ended up coming down to my house, and we drove to Dewey’s Pizza in Clifton for dinner. Quinn was our waitress. She gave me a hard time about ordering water and a cheese pizza, and said I wasn’t ‘impressing my date’. Barb and I went up to my new apartment so I could show her where it was, and then since we were near Mount Adams, we went to UDF and split a brownie sundae. Then it was off to Northside Tavern to see Jake Speed and the Freddies. Overall, I guess I had a great night, but it was so unfortunate that I got in a wreck earlier.
