March 28, 2004 - I woke up at a reasonable weekend hour of 10 AM and got dressed for running today. Instead of running up and down the hills in the park, I headed straight for Gilbert Avenue and ran downtown. In fact, I ran all the way to Fountain Square. This run was fun because I got run by the old Natural History Museum, the Grayhound station, the Blue Wisp, the Aronoff Center, and Fountain Square. When I got close to the square there was music playing, and a lot of people. I came to find out that there was a mini-marathon that was ending and people were ending up at the square, with lots of free food, music, and other people who (of course) run. I didn't want to have any of the food since I had to run all the way back home, but I did get some free water and then got back on my way. I wasn't able to make it the entire way back running, but I did make it to Eden Park Drive before I had to start walking. That was about 30 minutes of solid running. I've definitely seen improvement in my running time, just from this weekend. I took a break at the gazebo in Eden Park and made some phone calls. Tom Crookham was one of those calls, and we agreed to meet over at my apartment for lunch. I walked home, showered, and then he was there. We had omelettes and some fruit for lunch. Tom left, and I drove from my apartment over to my house to get some stuff cleaned up and moved. First I cleaned up all the junk in the basement and packed the trash into the car, found a dumpster, and unloaded the trash. Then Anna and Chuck showed up, and I loaded their car up with a bunch of my parents stuff that was in my basement. Finally, I loaded my car up with my recording equipment and took it to my house. There is still a lot of stuff to move. I'm starting to get nervous that I won't get it all moved in time. I'll just have to stay focused.
