March 2, 2004 – The meetings, the meetings, oh, oh, the meetings. First I met with a new outside sales guy who was hired, and we spent the morning talking about competitors, planetary cablers, and other random stuff. Then lunch rolled around, leading directly to the end of the work day (it was a fairly uneventful day at work). I was supposed to play racquetball with Carl after work but he called and said he forgot his stuff, so instead I went to the gym and ran two miles. It wasn’t a great run, since I took about 20 minutes to do it, but it was better than going home and sitting around. Tara called me earlier and invited me over for dinner. Ok, so she’s dating my friend Mike Morgan, and they’ve been on and off a few times, so I had to wonder what her intentions were, but I knew that I was going to behave, so I didn’t see any problem meeting her for dinner. Apparently her intentions were simply to hang out with me, eat dinner, watch a movie, and nothing else, so I didn’t have to worry about any potential problems with my friendship with Mike. We watched 2 Fast, 2 Furious, which is the sequal to Fast & Furious, a movie about street racing. This sequel had some cool camera shots that I hadn’t really seen done before (in particular they twice started the camera upside down and flipped it over quickly), but overall I would rate it lower than the first movie. I got back home around 11:30 and sat around packing stuff up and checking email and stuff until it was time for bed.
