January 28, 2004 - I drove a lot of today. First I should say that work was quite busy, since my boss was out of town. At lunch I ran out to the NKU ATM and got cash, then bought lunch in the cafe. I ended up with a baked potato and a Dr Pepper. I got Tim and Shawn to play basketball. Eventually Jill and Elizabeth joined in. We played HORSE, PIG and knock out. I didn't shoot to well. Tim and Jill did all of the winning. Lunch ended and I got back to work. 5 PM came very quickly and suddenly it was time to get in my car and drive to World of Sports in Florence to play racquetball with Shannon. She tried cancelling on me earlier in the day, telling me that she was tired. I don't understand how people get 'tired'. I am constantly active, and when I got to bed I usually still have some energy left. I don't really watch TV. What do people need time to relax for? I need to keep busy. Anyway, Shannon and I played racquetball. I won all the games we played, but I am clearly not the greatest player in the world. My game seems to be getting better. I'm getting into the right places more often and only losing ponits when Shannon really makes a good play. I had to drive back to my house after the games and unload my car of all its contents so that I could drive to the Dayton Airport to pick up Josh, Zuzanna, and Yanna. They flew in from Las Vegas. I dropped Yanna off at her host house in Loveland, and then stopped at White Castle to get some dinner on the way back to my house. I quickly ate and then drove down to Latonia to drop off some music for Steve Masters. He will be playing bass on Valentines Day (technically the 13th) in a jazz quartet, and needs to practice the songs. He was playing at some bar called Camel Mike's where every Wednesday there is an open blues jam session, and he plays in the host band. I didn't bring an instrument to play along, but maybe I will next week. Instead, I drove home and went to bed around 12:30.
