February 9, 2004 - Mondays just don't motivate me to do much. I was slow moving in the morning. A few people commented on my all-black outfit. I was wearing my favorite black long sleeve button down shirt, black pants (the ones LeAnne picked out), and black shoes. What's wrong with that? It looks good, in my opinion. Anyway, at lunch I played some basketball. My game wasn't too good. I had a pretty nasty ham sandwich too. I would have to rate today's lunch low on the list of lunches in recent memory. The biggest event from today was Jazz Band. I taught Anna and Mike how to improvise. We played along with Jamey Aebersold CD's. It was really awesome hearing how they had no idea what to do at the beginning of the lesson, and by the end they were getting a lot more comfortable with making up solos. The songs that I chose were very basic so that they wouldn't get overwhelmed with difficult chord progressions. I sent both of them home with a CD and book to play along to. Mike and I went up to Uncle Woody's and had a beer, and then I went home for the night.
