February 29, 2004 – Though today feels just like any other day, for all intents and purposes, it is a free day. Leap Day happens once every four years (approximately), and that day is today. For a Sunday it wasn’t too bad. I started things off with disc golf. Steve Gentry and his girlfriend Marisa joined me at Woodland Mound. I ended up even after 18 holes. I could have ended up much better but I had a few bad throws that held me back. On the way back to my house, we stopped at my apartment so I could show off its prime location to them. Maggie Wesley came over and picked up the Cincinnati Reds seats that I sold to her sister. I bought them originally at an auction when the Bengals stopped playing at Riverfront Stadium, and I hadn’t gotten too much use out of them. There won’t be room for them at my new place, so I had to part with them. I recall spending somewhere in the ballpark of $75 for the 4 seats, and also built a base for them which probably cost another $30 or so, and sold the seats for $100, so it wasn’t too bad of an investment. I enjoyed their novelty but at this point I didn’t have a reason to store them until I wanted to use them again. I barely had enough time to go up to Sam Ashe music at Cincinnati Mills (formerly Forest Fair Mall) to buy a cymbal bag for my drum set cymbals. I then drove to the apartment, dropped off the cymbals and a few other things, grabbed my instruments for church, and went to mass. I got there about 20 minutes late but I didn’t miss very much. Mike Morgan and Tara B met me for dinner at Don Pablos after church. I was apparently the only person who likes Mexican food, because Mike just got dessert and Tara didn’t really eat any of the chips and salsa. The day ended with me in bed, tired from a fun weekend.
