February 16, 2004 - My Monday motivation in the morning was at a relative low. I made it through the day and went up to UC to teach some jazz. Mike was the only one who showed up today, so I taught him how to analyzed chords and identify the root, third, fifth, and seventh of chords based on the notation. I also worked with another guy on a solo he has in the big band. Then LeAnne and I went back to my place for spaghetti dinner, prior to heading back out to Northside Tavern. I was quite pleasantly surprised to see a jazz group playing. These guys were all new to my eyes and ears, which I found to be amazing. I would think that at this point in my life I would know the majority of the people playing jazz in Cincinnati. These guys were all beyond college level, in their mid-twenties, so I would have thought I would know at least one of them playing. They sounded good. LeAnne and I stuck around until about 11 PM and then headed back home.
