February 10, 2004 - Through the mirarcle of the internal human clock, I woke up this morning. I recall that someone entered into my room. I suspect it was Tom, checking to see something, but that was probably at 6:30 AM. When I got up at 7:20, I woke up without my alarm going off. Aparently my computer had been turned off somehow (was there a power outage?), and I just happened to luck out waking up in time. I got to work and the morning went by quickly. I started in on lunch slightly early, since I drove downtown to check out the Sycamore at St. Xavier Place apartments. They were really nice, but the space was so small. I can't believe how spoiled I've become in my house. I pay so little for so much space. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about living arrangements. The girls back in the lab are ice cream fiends, so I stopped at Graeters on Fourth Street and picked up 3 pints of ice cream. I scored mega bonus points by treating 8 people to an afternoon ice cream snack. The afternoon got into full swing when I met with the VP of our department. He gathered together the whole group and we talked about what his expectations are, and we told him what ours are of him. This meeting made my job satisfaction go up a lot. I feel like I am part of a team now, rather than just being an engineer. At the end of the work day I drove over to NKU and started running laps. When Carl showed up I had run 13 and was walking my 14th. I talked him into running 4 more with me, which meant I ran 2 miles today. Then we played 3 games of racquetball. I was tired during the last game, but still managed 3 wins. Back at home I showered, ate pizza, and then sat around for the rest of the night.
