March 22, 2003 - When I woke up at 9:30 I knew no one else would be up so I wasted some time on the internet. By 10:30 Josh convinced me to go to Waffle House with him, Suzanna, and Ivanna. This was the first time Suzanna and Ivanna had been to Waffle House. I don't know if they liked it very much but I loved the waffle and hashbrowns that I got. Back at home I coordinated Ron Jackups meeting at our house and Mike Cloppert meeting all of us down at the new Reds Stadium, Great American Ballpark. Today was an open house for anyone who wanted to check out what the taxpayers of Cincinnati gave to the Reds. I stadium was pretty incredible. We all walked around the main level, stopping to look at the murals on the wall, Gapper, the new mascot, and Mike got a coney and a drink from Skyline which is inside the stadium. The tour let you walk down onto the field into a fenced off region. I took many photos on this great clear and warm March day. Then we went up to the upper deck where my seats will be located for Opening Day on the 31st. The air was definitely colder as the breeze from the river was able to get into the stadium and cool things off. It was be nice on hot summer days but not so nice on cool autumn nights. Everyone was very impressed with the stadium. I convinced the group sans Ron to play disc golf. Mike suggested Banklick in Kentucky because we could drink beer while playing. This turned out to be a horrible idea. After stopping back at my house to pick up discs for everyone and then picking up Mike at his apartment downtown, I drove the Jag to Banklick off of Turkeyfoot Road in Kentucky. The beer drinking started immediately. I had 1 beer through the course of the game but everyone else had quite a bit. This was a bad idea because Susanna and Ivanna had never played disc golf before and didn't know what they were doing. The game went REALLY SLOW with lots of groups passing us. I am used to playing turbo disc golf at lunch when I have to get 18 holes in under 40 minutes. This round took about 2 hours to play. I was pretty much the babysitter for all the other drinking fools and I didn't even throw particularly good so it wasn't that much fun for me. We were all hungry so we went to Dewey's Pizza in Clifton for dinner. The drinking continued (but I wasn't drinking, just Mike and Josh)). I drove us home and Josh and Mike decided it would be a great time to go into the basement and play drums and bass. I thought it would be a great time to rollerblade so I called up Vanessa and we met up for some rollerblading downtown. It has been quite a while since I went downtown to rollerblade. I parked in the garage near the Blue Wisp on 8th Street. I think this is probably the best place to park when rollerblading at night because I don't have to worry about people doing anything to my car. We skated around town for an hour and 20 minutes. It was quite a refreshing time. I need to make sure that I do this every day so that I can stay in shape. Back at home Vanessa and I watched a few minutes of TV and then I kicked her out so I could get to bed. I talked on the phone to Janet for a little bit since she was still out of town and then went to bed.
