March 17, 2003 - I was so close to getting out of bed at 7 AM when the alarm went off but I just couldn't do it. It is so nice to be able to lay in bed until the absolute last second. Work was fairly routine. Nothing exciting happened other than the fact that at lunch time I drove to Pride Park and played a full round of disc golf. I didn't play particularly well but it was really great to be out in the sun getting some exercise at lunch rather than sitting in the stale office air. The end of the day at work drug on pretty slowly but finally I got to leave just a few before 5 PM. I drove straight to Janet's house and at 5:30 when I got there we departed for Tri-County Mall. I had an eye exam at Lenscrafters in the mall. The guy who gave me the exam was pulling out all stops, including dilating my eyes. I thought the guy was propositioning me when he said "Do you mind if I dilate your eyes?" Since it was only the 3rd eye exam of my life I didn't really know what he was talking about so he did it and it turned out to not be a big deal. My vision apparently hadn't changed much more than a marginal amount since my last exam 5 years ago so I guess I am doing alright. Janet helped me pick out some glasses. I like the way that they look. Since I have a fairly small head I went with smaller glasses that have a elongated oval shape. While the glasses were being made Janet and I ate at the Macaroni Grill. We both got the chicken parmigiano and it was quite good. I always like the Macaroni Grill, they know how to make great Italian food. Back at the mall I got my glasses and then Janet and I drove to her church on the east side of town so that she could drop something in the mailbox. Then I drove down to the Serpentine Wall and we sat there talking for a bit until I had to take her back home. When I got home Josh was there and he wanted to go out to a bar. I was pretty tired so instead I convinced him to watch Back to the Future III on my computer so that I could return the DVD set to Tim Waters the next day at work. We didn't start the movie until 11 PM so it was quite late when it ended. I nearly fell asleep at many points during the movie. After the movie since I was already in bed I fell asleep.
