March 12, 2003 - Wednesday seems as good of a day as Monday to not shave before going to work so I just hopped out of the shower and drove to work without shaving (although I of course stopped to put on clothes and brush my teeth). Work was fairly productive today. I am still on pace to complete my work by Friday that I committed to. Due to the lack of storage space in my cars trunk I drove to Tim Waters house after work and dropped off the 2 15" speakers that I was toting around and also the speaker stands. He showed me his new fish tank and all the plants that had taken over his house. It was like a jungle! I then high-tailed it back to my house because I had prior engagements with Steve to play a round of disc golf at Burnett Woods. Darkness was on the horizon so we had to play as soon as I got home. I played a respectable round with a final score of even. It is important to note that I had 2 deuces so my potential to play a negative round was there, I just fell apart on two holes. My car was in dire need of being cleaned both on the outside and inside. With a little help from Josh I washed, waxed, and otherwise made the outside look great. Then I vacuumed out on the inside and cleaned the leather and vinyl. At this point it was so dark I couldn't see if my car was actually clean but it should be. Brian Hauk and Kavia Gowda came over so that we could check out a masters percussion recital up at UC-CCM. The guy was pretty talented but I just wasn't impressed with the selections that he made. The 'theme' appeared to be modern, with lots of random things going on, AKA John Cage, and he pulled off the pieces with high precision, but the melodic aspect was missing. Some high points were the use of lighting on the first piece, the 'drum set' which was made up of saw blades, trash cans, and other random stuff, a miked cactus (!), a miked slinky, and a conch shell all being used at some point. After the show I was tired so I didn't really do much else that night.
