January 31, 2003 - I never really got the motivation to do a lot at work today but amazingly I didn't get so far behind that it will cause me much duress on Tuesday when I return. I did forget to put up an auto-away message on my email and voicemail so I ended up calling in to Audix and put up a message at home. Unfortunately it won't cover my email but hopefully no one will get mad that I don't return their email until Tuesday. At home Steve had already picked up the floor sander for the kitchen. Unfortunately we underestimated the tenacity of the tar on the floor. The stuff just won't budge. Kevin Briney came over and lent me a dolly to move the fridge and also his hand belt sander. I went to Home Depot and rented a large belt sander and it was getting down to the wood but the sheets of sandpaper are getting worn out so fast. It looks like it will take a good 30 or 40 sheets of 24 grit paper to get to the wood. Josh Stromberg came home and we started the drive to Savannah to visit Josh Speakman.
