February 8, 2003 - I'm still struggling with the fact that it is 2003. Just 3 years ago the world was supposed to end, whether it be because of the apocalypse or just because all the computers in the world were going to blow up. I feel ill prepared for all that has occurred and will occur after 2000 because of this fact. I will have to spend a good amount of time trying to figure out what to do with my life. At least my current goal will keep me busy: seeing all 50 US states. 30 down, 20 to go. Steve and I did some electrical work in the basement but it didn't go well because I was unable to get my drill bit all the way from the basement into the garage. I'll have to get a much longer bit. Around 5 pm I packed up my car and drove to West Chester to play at a 50th birthday party for Dottie Barker. She's the wife of the drummer in the Renovators. The party was fun. Other than the humongous hot dogs I loved all the food and we had fun playing although a few songs were rusty. The low point of the night was an attempt to play Wipe Out having never practiced it. Back at home I ended up just sitting around.
