February 25, 2003 - A full day of work and emailing led up to a 5 PM departure to my house. Some guy in a Mustang gave me motivation to drive quickly home on 471. When I got home I was surprised to see Josh at home. Apparently he had 1. taken the day off work so that he could see my band tonite (and had worked Monday instead to make up for this) and 2. had news that our performance time had been moved from 11 PM to 8:30 PM which was good and bad. It was bad because I had already let a few friends know that we were playing at 11 and good because after I contacted those friends it meant I wouldn't have to be out too late and we wouldn't be the last band playing that night. Kavia came over and we drove up to the Mad Frog just as Sam said we should at 6 PM. Unfortunately there were no lights on and no one was around. We detoured to McDonalds for dinner and after dinner went back to the Mad Frog. At this point Sam and Hauk and Wolf were there. We unloaded and had plenty of time to sit in the cold air inside the Mad Frog. In fact, we had so much time that after those guys left for McDonalds for dinner and came back, we played about 5 games of pool before the first band went on a little after 8. At a little after 8:45 my band took the stage and the audience by storm. The show consisted of 25 minutes of music by us. The crowd was pretty responsive and we got lots of applause. That was great! Toni was on hand to see us, since she is most likely joining the band. After we played I had her walk around with the email signup list and she did a great job getting people to sign the list. In fact, she did so well that when she walked up to the judges to get them to sign the list she got lots of compliments on our band and they wanted CD's. One judge works for WAIF radio and another works for City Slicker magazine. This was great news! I left after the next band was done and got an early start on sleepy time.
