April 7, 2003 - Work was fairly blase. Dinner was nice because Janet came over, Tom Crookham came over, Josh was already there, and we all went up to the Cactus Pear. Tom showed off his new Volkswagen Passat VR6. It was pretty sweet. I think it I had to buy a non-sports car that this would be the way to go. It had tons of cool features and the overall finish of the car was very nice. From what I understand the price is pretty good too. However, the appeal of a sports car is too great and I'll stick to my Hyundai Tiburon for now. Back at home Tom dropped us off and Janet got to work on my computer so that she could finish up her portfolio that was due tomorrow. I drove to Starbucks to pick her up "...a small cafe' mocha with skim milk. They will call it a tall. It is $2.75..." This was the first time I had ventured into a Starbucks to actually purchase something. I recall one time going into a Starbucks and looked at the cookies or brownies and seeing that they were not as good looking and more expensive than I hoped. I got the thing she asked for and it was pretty hot. Then I realized I was holding the cup in the wrong place and that they put that extra cardboard thing around the cup to keep your hand from burning off. When I put my hand in the right place it was all good. On the ride back to my house the coffee sloshed around a little bit but the lid on the cup kept most of it intact. The rest of the night was uneventful.
