April 4, 2003 - Since it was Friday during Lent I decided to follow the no-meat rule that the Catholic church imposes. No one really knows why we don't eat meat on Friday but it is just how things are. The people back in the lab ordered pizza from Dominos. Taiese, my co-op, and I went back there for pizza. Every time I eat Domino's (or Pizza Hut) I am reminded that I don't like it. This was no exception. I was able to put down 3 pieces of cheese pizza and there was plenty left over so I held some restraint from totally gorging myself. I could have totally eaten another piece or two even though I don't particularly like that pizza but I didn't. The rest of the day went by pretty quickly and at 5 PM I was out of there for the weekend. The weekend was looking to be pretty rough because I am going to be in Ripley, OH for most of it at a high school production of "Kiss Me, Kate". Brian Hauk and Mike Cloppert both met at my house at 6 PM so that we could be at the musical by the time it started at 7:30 PM. There was just enough time to pick up some McDonald's before leaving which I ate quickly. I had Janet's car so that we could all easily fit rather than trying to shove someone into the back seat of my car. We got there with about 15 minutes to spare even after stopping at the McDonald's in Ripley for Brian. That is a lot of McDonalds for one day! The musical went quite well. The big surprise of the night was Sam Schutte and his fiancée showing up to see the show. Toni Price was also there (since she had ridden with us). Sam said at intermission that we weren't being heard so I went out and played a lot louder. Apparently Sam had hit a bird or something on the way out to see us. That guy has no luck when it comes to hitting stuff with his SUV. The performance ended and we drove back to Cincinnati in a caravan. Sam hit something else while he was driving in front of me so he let me get in the lead. I didn't see a single thing the whole way back, he just must have a target painted on the front of his car. Janet was at my house and so was Josh and Suzanna. The tornado warning siren was blaring from the EPA building and the sky was a little spooky. We hung out on the porch talking for a while and then the troops dispersed to eat or to go home. I stayed home and went to sleep.
