April 3, 2003 - Normally I would have Southwest Ohio Symphonic Band practice tonight and would eat dinner at my mom's house but that had to be cancelled due to the musical rehearsal at Ripley Union High School. First though, I worked during the day and spent lunch at Tim Water's house playing horseshoes in his backyard. His dogs were recently neutered so they weren't as frisky as they had been the previous times I had gone over there. Tim managed to beat me again. I think he has the home field advantage. I am going to have to bring my own horseshoes from home because his are rusted. Mine are fairly new and in decent condition. We stopped at Arby's on the way back to work and I picked up two chicken breast filet sandwiches with honey mustard sauce...what a great lunch. At the end of the work day I stayed at work waiting for Brian and Cloppert to show up. I got a little worried when 5:30 rolled around and neither of them had showed up or called me to tell me what was going on. I called Brian and he was stuck in traffic. He said he would probably take another 30 minutes to get there. I got a call from Cloppert 15 minutes later telling me that he had been in the parking lot waiting for about 5 minutes. It would have been nice for him to have left his cell-phone on so I could have talked to him when I had called 15 minutes prior. At this point since we were 'supposed' to be at practice at 6 PM and it was going to be about an hour drive from work I decided that Brian would have to drive himself to the rehearsal. Mike and I took his Honda S2000 with the top down. It was quite a fun ride although the air was colder than it should have been for an early April day. We got there during the 6th song which wasn't too bad since Steve (the guy in charge of directing the musical) knew we were all coming from work. Brian actually walked in a few minutes after us. He said that he drove about 90 the whole way there once he got out of the heavy traffic. Practice went better than the previous Thursday and I feel like I am ready for the musical tomorrow, but not as ready as I would prefer to be.
